Birthday Candles Iris Folding Pattern
About 'Birthday Candles Iris Folding Pattern'
Celebrate your loved one's birthday with this free birthday candle iris folding pattern.
I had such a great response to the party hat iris folding template from a couple of weeks ago that I thought I'd release another birthday-themed design.
I hope you like it! :)
Iris folding candles pattern
I decided to just fold one of the candles for my test card, but I've put three candles together on the pattern so that you could do them all in a row if you prefer more candles for your card!
Or you could cut and fold two of them - perfect for a 2nd birthday card!

This is a great pattern as it's fairly simple to fold, but it looks super fancy because you cut out two separate aperture shapes in your base card to create the main candle shape and the flame.
This means you can easily switch colours between the flame and candle for a more realistic look.
For my test card, I used the same scrapbook papers that I did the folding with to decorate the background of my card.
I love how all of the teal coloured papers coordinate perfectly in this Papermania scrapbook paper set.
It's one of the very first paper pack that I ever bought, oven ten years ago!
Unfortunately I don't think you can buy it any more, but you could get the same effect with any matching background papers.
To get the jagged-edges along the right hand side, where the background paper meets the white card of the iris folding topper, I carefully tore the paper down the length of a ruler to get a rough-edge appearance whilst still keeping a straight line.
I hope you enjoy making this iris folding template.
How many candles will you choose to fold? One, two or THREE?
