Custom Floating Word Cards
In this Papercraft Porch video Class, you’ll learn how to turn simple shapes and words into a bespoke handmade card with words “suspended” between two rectangles for a floating effect.
I used “Merry Christmas” for the demo videos, but you can use any word, phrase or name that you choose.
You must be part of Papercraft Porch to gain access to this Class.

What’s included?
Whether you use Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, or ScanNCut’s CanvasWorkspace, this Class walks you through the entire process of designing your own floating word cards.
Learn the three “golden rules” for choosing the perfect font that will work perfectly for these cards and see how to combine everything together into cards that cut beautifully, with all the different elements joined together.
Follow along step-by-step to replicate the card I make in the video, or jump right into crafting your own unique designs with your chosen phrase.
Use patterned paper along the top and bottom rectangles to add extra visual interest to your card. It’s a great way to use up leftover scraps from previous projects!
Each lesson is recorded separately in Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio* and CanvasWorkspace**, so you can follow along whether you have a Cricut, Silhouette or ScanNCut machine.
* Note that the Silhouette Studio tutorials require Designer Edition or higher. You cannot follow the steps in the free/Basic/Standard edition of Silhouette Studio as it lacks the necessary features.
** The ScanNCut tutorials work best when using the installed software/program version of CanvasWorkspace, not the online/web version.
