Make a handmade Christmas card for westie lovers

Step 1: Print the craft sheet

Print the Christmas westie craft sheet onto photo paper or card.

I use Crafty Bob Glossy Paper which is a special type of paper designed for greetings cards and crafts.

I like to use this paper because the printer ink dries instantly and is smudge-proof straight after printing, so you can use the printed sheet straight away.

If you aren’t a fan of the glossy shiny look to your printouts then the paper is available in matte too.

Step 2: Cut out the elements

Cut out all the parts of the sheet.

I used a craft knife and cutting mat to cut out the rectangular card front so that all my edges were nice and straight. You could also use a paper trimmer.

Step 2: Cut out the elements

Step 3: Stick the card front to your card blank

Use double-sided tape to attached the rectangular card front onto your A5 card blank.

The card front has been designed to be slightly smaller than A5 so that you have a bit of the card blank showing around the edge.

Step 4: Build the pyramage layers

Add 3D foam pads to the backs of all the oval cutouts.

How to make a pyramid handmade card

Stick them onto the card front in size order, with the largest first.

This creates a “pyramid” effect to make the card appear 3D.

Step 5: Decorate your card

Let your Christmas cheer ring out and decorate the card however you want to!

I added a red glitter poinsettia topper to the top right and then went *slightly* overboard with gemstones…

My finished card has about 60 gemstones on it, all stuck on with a little bit of Mod Podge glue (my favourite craft glue!).
